Versatile individual with nine years in Law enforcement, twenty-three years in the United States Postal Service in Customer Service department and four years in the United States Army. Strengths include problem solving, innovation, listening, and time management.
James was born and raised in Greensville County. His mother and father owned a farm and he recognized this was the beginning of learning good work ethics through life experiences. These experiences helped shape him into the person he is today and the strong connection he has with the county.
He graduated from Greensville County High School in 1976 and played the center position on the varsity basketball team for three years.
James joined the United States Army in 1976 and had a successful tour of duty serving his country at Fort Steward, Georgia; Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Germany. He worked for the United States Post Office from 1981-2004 in Newark, NJ; Washington, D.C. and Norfolk, VA.
From September 2004-2007, he worked for the Hampton Virginia Sheriff’s Office and from 2007-2012 he worked for the Greensville County Sheriff’s Office. He returned to the Greensville County Sheriff’s Office in 2017 and currently works part-time as a Deputy Sheriff.
